Local players named as CCC picks

Several Monroe City football players earned CCC All-Conference recognition following the team’s 6-4 season.
Senior Joe Chinn was named Co-Defensive Player of the Year along with Shane Smith of South Shelby. Chinn was a unanimous CCC First Team selection at defensive back and was also named to the First Team as a wide receiver. On defense, Chinn had 72 solo tackles and 62 assists. He also recorded two sacks and an interception. As a receiver, he caught 25 passes for 251 yards and three touchdowns. He also ran for 660 yards and six touchdowns.
Senior Jordan Holland was a First Team selection at linebacker and a Second Team player at running back. Holland ran 107 times for 868 yards and 10 touchdowns. On defense, he had 55 solo tackles, 55 assists and eight sacks. Senior C.J. Haden was named to the Second Team as both an offensive tackle and a defensive lineman. In addition to clearing the way for Monroe City’s rushing attack as an offensive lineman, Haden had 24 solo tackles, 32 assists and six sacks as a defensive lineman. Junior Austin Reynolds was Second Team All-CCC as a punter. Reynolds also played quarterback for the Panthers and was one of the conference’s most consistent punters. Senior defensive tackle Matt Troxell received Honorable Mention recognition. Troxell had one sack, 18 solo tackles and 17 assists on the season.
