Monroe County Sheriff

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department responded to the following calls.

On Sept. 20 the department received information about an inmate in the jail having seizures. An ambulance was called and the inmate was taken to the emergency room to get checked out. The inmate was brought back to the jail after getting checked out.
On Sept. 21 there was a call from a Holliday resident about the neighbors horses causing property damage.
Deputies responded to a two-vehicle accident on Highway 24 East of Madison on Sept. 22. No injuries were reported.
Deputies responded to a three-vehicle accident in Paris. No injuries were reported.

On Sept. 23 Deputies responded to a property damage complaint.
There was a report of a careless and imprudent driver, traveling at a high rate of speed heading eastbound from Madison. The vehicle was located at the west edge of Paris.

Deputies took a theft report near Route C.
Deputies checked the well being of a Paris resident. Everything was OK.

On Sept. 24 deputies investigated a hit and run accident near Madison.
Deputies were called in to assist an intoxicated female out of the tavern in Madison on Sept. 25. The female became combative and was arrested for assaulting an officer and transported to jail.

On Sept. 26 Deputies received a complaint of noise and a vehicle racing up and down MR 756. Deputies made contact with the persons and arrested one male subject for DWI.
Deputies were called back to same residence for females fighting. While deputies were at the residence, one of the females who had been fighting arrived back at the residence and one was arrested for DWI-drugs. No charges for assault were filed at this time.
On Sept. 27 deputies responded to Madison to answer a complaint of trespass.

Hirem, Clements, DWI third offense, posted $3,500 bond;
Jeffery Warrington, warrant, $1,425 and 30 days jail.

rtment responded to the following calls.

On Sept. 21 a report for identity theft was taken and three cats were placed in the pound.

Two more cats were placed in the pound and a dog was as well on Sept. 22.
There was a report of a fight on Chestnut Street.

There was a loud noise complaint in the 400 block of First Street and the subjects were advised to turn it down and keep it down.
There was a report of a careless and imprudent driver in the 400 block of Catherine Street, but nothing was located.
"Harassing literature" was removed from the bulletin board at Abel's.
On Sept. 23 there was a report of a juvenile left sleeping in a car at Dollar General. The parent was contacted and advised to take the juvenile with them next time.

There was a report of loud music somewhere on West Summer Street. The source of the disturbance was located and the subjects turned it off and said it would not come back on again.
There was a disturbance reported at Gypse Row and no action was taken after an officer spoke with the caller.
On Sept. 25 a subject at the 400 block of W. Summer St. wanted to speak to an officer about property damage and did not want to press charges nor fill out a voluntary statement.

There was a report of a subject withholding mail of another for rent money. The subject said they did not have other subject's mail.
A black Labrador known for consistently running at large was reportedly spotted on Hope Street by a caller.
There was a report of harassment at the 400 block of First Street.
A stray cat was successful in its objective for freedom from captivity as it arrived at the pound with its captor.
There was a report of a suspicious subject walking down the 100 block of Lawn Street in front of a residence on Sept. 26. The subject was not located after an officer patrolled the area in vehicle and on foot.
There was a report of a possible stolen vehicle from the Main Street Bar. The vehicle was located later on the south side of Dugout untouched.
Marshall E. Williams was issued a summons for leaving the scene of an accident and no proof of insurance on Sept. 27 at the 200 block of West Summer Street. There was a report of property damage at the 400 block of West Summer Street that could have been related.
There was a report of an ATV driving on streets in the area of Gypse Row and South Oak. Nothing was located.
An anonymous subject asked if police could have a dog search a house he was considering buying because he had heard the previous owners manufactured methamphetamine there and he wanted to make sure it was safe. The subject was advised that a drug dog would not be available for this, but he could put this type of testing in the purchasing contract for the seller to complete.
A domestic disturbance was reported at the 400 block of W. Summer Street on Sept. 28. The parties were given the Missouri 12-Hour Rule before they were separated.
