The Monroe City Police Department responded to the following calls. On June 26 there was a report of stolen identity. There was a report of a dog on South Chestnut with no food or water. Upon further investigation, everything was okay. There was a report of a subject about to fight someone at Hardee's. The situation was resolved. There was a report of juveniles shooting fireworks and riding a loud motorcycle. The subjects were told to stop. Austin G. Mudd was issued a summons for loud music on June 27. Monroe County 911 told the police about a burglary at Big George's Discount Fireworks. There was a report of intoxicated individuals hanging on the water hose next to the fire department. Nothing was found as officers searched the area and monitored the hose. There was a report of a suicidal subject in the 600 block of East Cleveland Street; however, the subject no longer lived at that residence, but lives in Hannibal. A chicken was placed in the pound on June 28. A motor vehicle collided with a house at the 500 block of First Street. No one was injured and the car was towed from the scene. The driver, Sherry A. Gamble, was arrested for a driving while intoxicated. Ciera Chambliss was issued a summons for running a stop sign on June 30. A brush fire was reported off of County Line Road on Lawn Street that may have been near Renssaelear. There was a report of a possible break in at the Monroe City Inn. The owner wanted a walk through done. It did not appear to have been broken into. A verbal dispute was reported at Bellefield Apartments on July 1 and the subjects were separated for the evening. Margaret M. Rose was issued a summons for speeding. There was a report of fireworks being thrown into traffic, but nothing was located. On the 700 block of Easy Street there was a report of fireworks and the subject was advised to stop. Corey M. Minor was released on citations for loud music, a DWI and minor in possession. A cat that was in a trap on July 3 was taken to the pound. A camper was found in a ditch on Route W, one mile east of city limits. Monroe City officers took charge of traffic control until a Ralls County deputy arrived. Officers then continued to assist as the camper was towed out of the ditch. Verbal warnings were given July 4 at East Border, Park and Front Streets. There was a verbal dispute between a guest and a manger at Rainbow Motel on July 5 that was settled. There were a variety of harassment reports over the course of the week, including one report of phone harassment from a telemarketer. There was a report of a domestic disturbance at Bellefield Apartments. The couple said everything was okay and that it was just an argument.

The following court cases occurred in Monroe City Municipal Court. A warrant was issued for Tomas Shane Batley after failing to appear in court regarding the charge of not having a driver’s license. There is a $100 cash only bond. William Cannady paid the $74 owed for careless and imprudent driving on July 2. A $100 cash only bond was issued after law enforcement issued a warrant for Benjamin A. Crockett for speeding. Jerron L. Daily’s case for first offense disorderly conduct was continued until Aug. 8. A warrant was issued for Kelli J. Deason for failing to appear in court for speeding. There is a $100 cash only bond. Paul A. Elliot paid the $49 owed on July 6 after pleading guilty for loud music. Patrick Michael Enochs is facing possession of intoxicants by a minor and first offense DWI. He will have his day in court Aug. 6 after his case was continued. John E. Fairlamb’s case for not having a driver’s license was continued until Aug. 6. It had been continued once before. Megan N. Geist plead guilty to not having a drivers license. She has been ordered to pay a total of $74 by 4 p.m. July 20 and attend driver improvement school. James E. Hufford paid the $149 owed for first offense peace disturbance. Jenine I. Jones failed to register her vehicle annually and must pay a total of $44 by 4 p.m. July 10. Micah Isaiah King paid the $74 for not having his driver’s license. Rhonda K. Lorenson faces a charge of leaving the scene of an accident. Her case was continued until July 6. Jerome V. Mayfield failed to appear in court for the second time on a disorderly conduct charge. The $150 bond he posted after being arrested for failing to appear the first time was forfeited, applied, and was then processed as a waiver. A warrant was issued for Casey Jerome Mayfield after failing to appear on a charge of animal at large. A $150 cash only bond has been issued. Ashley Morrison faces charges of leaving the scene of an accident and failure to maintain financial responsibility. On the charge of leaving the scene, her case has been continued to Aug. 6. On the financial responsibility charge, she appeared in court and plead guilty to the charge. She paid $50 of the total $124 owed and has until Aug. 6 to pay the remaining balance. Richard E. Morrison’s case for failing to stop for a school bus was dismissed on July 6. Jefferey Lane Mundy’s case of first offense disorderly conduct was continued without a date for the next hearing set. Gregory Scott Ousley provided proof of insurance during his July 6 court date. The charge was for failure to maintain financial responsibility and Ousley also paid $33.50. Darren J. Poppe faced a charge of failure to stop for a school bus and the case was dropped by the city as the defendant appeared in court. Billy Guy Pullin has a warrant out for his arrest after failing to appear in court regarding a disorderly conduct first offense charge. There is a $150 cash only bond. Scott A. Ramirez paid $50 down of a total of $124 owed for failure to maintain financial responsibility. The rest is owed by 4 p.m. July 31. Regina A. Rarick is facing a speeding charge and a continued court case until Aug. 6. Lisa M. Reinkemeyer was facing a no driver’s license charge and the case was dropped. Tiffany F. Rossiter faces charges of failed to register annually, not providing a drivers license and failure to maintain financial responsibility. She appeared in court, plead guilty to all charges, and owes a total of $239 after paying $50. The remainder of the $146 left on the driver’s license charge is due by July 31. Driver improvement training was authorized. Douglas Nathan Spurgeon paid the $49 due for the loud music charge. Andrew R. Utterback’s case for not having a driver’s license was dismissed. Anna Rose Walker paid the $59 owed for failing to register her vehicle annually. Michael W. Warden failed to appear in court regarding a failure to maintain financial responsibility charge. A warrant was issued with a $300 cash only bond. Christopher Lynn Willingham’s case for failing to register annually was continued until Aug. 6. Charlotte Ann Winters paid the $59 owed for failing to register annually. Cory Lynn Young faced charges of failure to maintain financial responsibility and not having a driver’s license. The driver’s license charge was dismissed and Young plead guilty to the financial responsibility charge and paid the $34 owed immediately following the hearing.

Monroe City man arrested in Hannibal

Officers of the Hannibal Police Department responded to a report of a suspicious person in the 900 block of Bird at 7:33 p.m. Sunday. Officers arriving on the scene located two men, one whom was rolling a marijuana blunt. Men identified as Hernandes B. Hoover, 23 of Hannibal and Dustin W. Rice, 20 of Monroe City were taken into custody without incident. A search of Rice resulted in the discovery of two plastic baggies of a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana. Both men were transported to the Hannibal Police Department. Hoover was issued summons on the charges of possession of a controlled substance and trespass (misdemeanors) and ordered to appear in municipal court. Rice was issued a summons to appear in municipal court on the charge of trespass (misdemeanor) with the remaining charge of possession of a controlled substance (misdemeanor) submitted to the Marion County prosecutor for filing of charges in the Associate Circuit Court.
