Monroe County Commission

The Monroe County Commission
opened its Monday, June 1
meeting by reviewing 911 operations
with 911 Coordinator Sam
Curd.

The commission reviewed and
approved the road vacation notice
to be posed in Santa Fe regarding
the alley that is proposed to be vacated.

Monroe County Collector Anita
Dunkle reviewed offi ce operations.
Shannon Howe with Benton
and Associates Inc. discussed the
county's BRO bridge program.
Warren Hagan was contacted to
discuss the Mark Twain Birthsite
Trail.

The commission met with
JoAnne Bonney and Bob Mitchell
to discuss details of the upcoming
Relay for Life during the Friday,
May 29 commission meeting.

The commission inspected the
proposed drainage project around
the courthouse.

The commission reviewed 911
operations again.

The commission conducted a
pre-construction conference on
the 205/Columbia Bridge project
and those in attendance were
Kelley Henderson, Dan Buckman
and Matt Walker with Great River
Engineering; Duane Bailey with
Bleigh Construction and Road Supervisor
Mike Minor. Special provisions
related to the project were
reviewed and a work schedule was
agreed upon. The county executed
the bridge replacement contract
with Bleigh Construction.

James Lowe with Clean Uniform
company appeared to discuss
issues related to the 911 uniform
contract. Lowe agreed to respond
to the commission by Thursday,
June 11.
