Ralls County Circuit Court

The following cases took place
in the Ralls County Circuit Court
during the week of March 24.
Arrow Financial Services LLC
vs. Jeremy L. Terry, judgment for
the plaintiff $878.74 plus court
costs and interest.

Capital One Bank vs. Justin J.
This summer, MoDOT will
resurface approximately 17
miles of north and southbound
Route 61 in Lewis and Marion
Counties. Crews will resurface
from just north of Route B near
LaGrange to south of Route 6 in
Marion County, including a small
section of Route 24 just east of the
Route 61 interchange. The Missouri
Highways and Transportation
Commission recently awarded the
project to Chester Bross Construction
Co., Inc. of Hannibal, Mo., for
$4,317,536.03.

Traffi c will be handled on the
existing pavement during the resurfacing
operations, but will be restricted
to one lane. Details about
the project will be released to local
media prior to construction beginning.
The public is urged to use
caution during construction. Work
is expected to begin after April and
be completed by November 2009.
All roadwork is posted on the
traveler information map on the
day it begins. Those traveling
and commuting public are encouraged
to check the online map
at www.modot.org daily for new
work zones. MoDOT also offers
e-update messages sent directly
to your email when roadwork is
scheduled. Sign up online or call
MoDOT’s customer service center
at 1-888-275-6636.

Pryor, judgment for plaintiff
$880.02 plus court costs and interest.
Thompson Truss Co. vs. Edina
Lumber & Hardware LLC, judgment
for plaintiff $2,295.61 plus
court costs and interest.
LVNV Funding LLC vs. Cassandra
Young, judgment for plaintiff
$4,425.81 plus court costs and
interest.

Marion County Commission okays agreement with City of Monroe

The Marion County Commission
reported on Monday, March
23 that the City of Hannibal wishes
to replace a culvert on West Ely
Road.

Though the area is actually
county property, the city said they
would do it if the county has no objections.
The recommendation was
approved.
Jerry Tower, president of Palmyra
State Bank, visited the commission
to go over some changes that
will be necessary in the depository
agreement. He will draw up a new
one to submit to the commission
for approval.
Marion County Collector of
Revenue Lee Viorel has shown
the commission a letter that he received
from Gary Osbourne, city
clerk of Monroe City. In it, Osbourne
said the Board of Aldermen
have agreed to authorize contracts
to be prepared to have the Marion
County Collector begin collecting
taxes for the portion of the city that
is in Marion County. The city will
formally adopt the contract at their
April 9 meeting.
Missouri Petroleum of St. Louis
submitted the lone bid to supply
the Marion County Highway Department
with oil for roads. Their
bid was $2.35 per gallon for EA-
300 type asphalt, $2.88 per gallon
for MC-800, and $2.88 per gallon
for MC-30. The bid was accepted
unanimously.

Various claims against Marion
County were presented to the commission,
examined and approved,
and the clerk will issue warrants in
accordance with orders set forth on
Allowance Record No. 2 as of the
day of the meeting.

The next scheduled meeting for
the Marion County Commission
was Monday, March 30.

Monroe County Ambulance

The Monroe City Ambulance
District Board of Directors met in
regular session Feb. 11 at the district
base.

Members present were Dick
Lawler, Charles Crouch, Garry
Gupton and Roger Pennewell.
Members absent were Suree Botkins
and Kevin Lorenson. Others
present were Eric Joiner, Blair
Joiner and Jared LaForce.
President Dick Lawler presided.
Accounts to collection were presented
to the board in the amount
of $9262.38. Garry Gupton made
a motion to approve the accounts
as presented, seconded by Roger
Pennewell with all in favor.
Eric Joiner discussed with the
board the current issues regarding
the maps by Klinger & Associates.
